Two Nights, Two Winemakers: A Special Turas Fíona Series in May

May in Galway is a time to celebrate great food, exceptional wine, and the people who bring them to life. As part of Blas na Bealtaine – A Taste of May, Daróg Wine Bar presents a special Turas Fíona series, featuring two intimate Wine Talk & Tasting events with winemakers who embody craft, sustainability, and storytelling.

Two Evenings, Two Visionary Winemakers

  • Wednesday, 7th May, 6.30pm – 7.30pm – Zoltán Heimann Jnr. of Heimann & Fiai, Hungary

  • Wednesday, 28th May, 6.30pm – 7.30pm – Jonatan Garcia of Suertes del Marqués, Tenerife

Both evenings offer a deep dive into wines that tell a story—of land, tradition, and innovation.

7th May 2025
Zoltán Heimann Jnr. is redefining Hungarian fine wine, focusing on the best clonal selection and vineyard expression of the indigenous Kadarka and Kékfrankos (Blaufränkisch) varieties. Organically cultivated, these wines are sophisticated, terroir-driven, and full of character—cementing Heimann & Fiai as a key player in Central Europe’s wine renaissance.

Jonatan Garcia leads Suertes del Marqués, the benchmark producer in Tenerife’s La Orotava Valley. His vineyards, primarily old, ungrafted vines of Listán Blanco (Palomino) and Listán Negro, reflect a commitment to tradition while embracing innovation. With 11 hectares of estate vines and additional plots in two villages, Jonatan captures the raw beauty of Tenerife’s volcanic terroir in every bottle.
