Daróg makes the shortlist for the Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh 2024

We are delighted to have made the shortlist as finalists for the Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh 2024 in the category of tourism, alongside Lally Tours, The Hardiman, Tribe Gin School. The Toursim category, sponsored by Fáilte Ireland, showcases businesses which celebrate bilingual excellence.

Finalists in the Gradam are recognised for their work in strengthening Galway’s Official Bilingual Status.

Organisers of the Gradam Sheosiamh Uí Ógartaigh, Gaillimh le Gaeilge, noted that the tourism category had an unprecedented number of entries this year. Increasing numbers in this category illustrate how bilingualism enhances the tourist experience as well as, Galway City as a unique destination. Tourists want to see and hear our native language when they visit.

We are passionate supporters of the language and are dedicated to weaving the beauty of the Irish language into the essence of Daróg. Below are some examples of how we showcase the Irish Language in Daróg.

Míle buíochas to the Gaillimh le Gaeilge team for their invaluable encouragement and support as we embark on the journey of integrating the Irish Language into Daróg Wine Bar.
