Introducing ‘To All Roots, Vessels, and all things Golden’ by Galway-based artist Helen Caird, now showcased on our Gallery Wall.
Caird’s playful yet profound drawings and collages celebrate the interconnected beauty of nature. Through her use of gold, she not only adds visual allure but also symbolizes the inherent preciousness of the natural world.
Through her work, Caird Illustrates how all living and non-living organisms are vessels in one way or another in addition to creating roots either physically or metaphorically - vessels providing safety, nourishment and warmth, and roots providing sustenance and stability. She has mostly taken references from her observations of her local natural surroundings.
Helen is a graduate of the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (2011) with a BA (hons) in Fine Art (Painting) and is now a practising visual artist in Galway City. She is currently an active member and board member of Artspace Studios. Caird’s work, specialising in the areas of drawing and illustration, predominantly explores environmental matters and the natural world, particularly the locality of where she currently resides.
Since 2014, Helen has been involved with the Terryland Forest Park Alliance in Galway City. Her illustrations which entail various native species of wildlife both flora and fauna may be seen on a number of information boards located throughout the park.
